Unforeseen hiatus

I have disappeared from posting here for over a month. Was I missed? I would like to think so (narcissist, much?).

My Daddy passed away last month on the third. It was a stunning blow for our family; we took it for granted that he'd live as long as his mother did, his father and his siblings (only two died before hitting sixty). I guess we forgot that all of us were born to die and that there is no promise or contract to let us know how long we have in this world. I have had my Daddy for over thirty five years (he had his for much less, so did my Mum), but I don't think there was ever enough time to have with the people you love, right?

I penned (typed, rather) a little tribute to my Daddy on Cowbird. You can see it here.

Goodbye, Daddy. See you on the other side.

Thank you so much, Zue. When you and Eliza came on the funeral, it really meant a lot to me.

Fear of loss is a must when we love someone. But do we let the fear take over our life? No. Which is why we must embrace life with both arms and get the most out of the gifts granted to us by the Almighty, never forgetting to praise and thank Him for all His blessings.

*hugs*

Thanks to your comments in my blog. Heartiest condolences to the tragedy in your family, and at the same time, you are an inspiration as someone who is moving on besides the tragedy. Thanks again for being that inspiration.

Hello, Rakesh. Thank you for stopping by. I do hope you continue to write more; I really do like your POV and your writing style is very enjoyable.

Also thanks for the sympathies; we have to look at the positive side of things or we'll just be mired in misery and paralysed by sorrow. My Daddy would not have wanted that; he was a man who always thought about the big picture and the future.

It is indeed very sad when you lose a parent. The tribute of your father at cowbird was very poignant. The recollection of how he prayed is also very touching. May Allah have mercy on him. The only thing we can do as sons or daughters is to give dua to our parents.

Assalamu'alaikum dear Sayacivale,

Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts and also for reading. It is true that when our parents pass, the only thing we can do is make du'a for them as there is nothing else that we can contribute to them anymore.

May Allah SWT bless us all.

=)
