Minding the typos

Being careless with words have cost a research lab a cited paper, which they had had to retract. Therefore, read the laboratory animal labels carefully, lest you could not repeat your previous outcome.

Oh dear.

How do I know that article had typos? It's all scientific gobbledygook to me.

Hehehe ... what happened was the person who did the experiment used the wrong rat type (there are many kinds of laboratory animals for specific experimental purpose). The explanation, unfortunately, is beyond a pay-per-view wall and is only available after 6 months.

:p

do you mean the Rag mice as opposed to the MyD mice? They should have paid for a copy editor. The copy editor tells you when you're doing it wrong, even when she has no idea what you mean.

It's not a problem that a copy editor can detect. The problem was the postdoc misread the animals' label, utilising the wrong strain of rat. That's why.
